Inspection openings are required in suspended ceilings and walls (installation shaft walls, metal frame walls and solid walls) for routine and periodic inspection and maintenance work, subsequent rewiring or upgrading of piping and electrical cables. Inspection hatches must always be officially certified for fire protection as part of the structure into which they are fitted. This means that official certificates are required for the openings in the relevant suspended ceiling or wall for exposure to fire from both sides. Such hatches can be fitted either at the time of assembling the wall or ceiling or subsequently. Because varying dimensions are required for different applications, the hatches must be delivered to the building site ready-made and ready-to-fit.
Promat®-inspection hatches for walls are officially certified in extremely thin PROMATECT® installation shaft walls, metal frame walls and solid walls exposed to fire from both sides.
Promat®-inspection hatches are ideal for suspended ceilings and are officially certified for enclosed PROMATECT® suspended ceilings, self supporting and enclosed PROMATECT® ceilings and, in the case of suspended ceilings, for the effects of fire from the top and/or from the bottom.
